Outreach

We strive to make our research accessible and impactful for our scientific community by actively sharing our results through peer-reviewed journals, scientific conferences, and specialized workshops.

But there is more to it. We also want to share our knowledge and discoveries with the broader public. For this, we are constantly engaging in communicating our science, presenting our results in an accessible way, and being active on various dedicated communication channels and media.

One of the most impactful forms of outreach we pursue is organizing scientific exhibitions in museums, where our research can engage diverse audiences and foster a deeper public understanding of planetary processes.

The MoonImpact exhibition tells the story of the Giant impact and the Moon’s formation. We discuss the formation of the solar system, the Giant Impact that formed the proto-lunar synestia, and the ever-growing complexity of the mineral realm. We present distant proto-planetary disks, animations of giant impacts, and the atomic secrets of the formation of the first atmosphere of the Earth. Apart from natural geological samples and meteorites, the exhibition features large-scale posters, translucent 3D window prints, movies, and 3D-printed models of atoms in melts and volcanic gas bubbles, stemming from atomistic simulations, as well as other items.
